DIY Notebooks for Kids with Crayola

Materials for the Fox Notepad:

  • Crayola Giant Construction Paper Pad (18"x12")
  • Crayola Markers
  • Crayola Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Free Downloadable Template (if you don't want to freehand the shape)

Materials for Rainbow Notepad:

  • Crayola Giant Construction Paper Pad (18"x12")
  • Crayola Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Free Downloadable Template (if you don't want to free-hand the shape)

Directions:

  1. Cut out the shape of the fox or the rainbow. For the rainbow, you will want to use the main shape of the rainbow to trace and cut the bands of color. Just make sure each band progressively gets smaller. For the Fox make sure to cut the ears, inner earpieces, and the face fur out of white construction paper. You can make your fox and rainbow any color you want.
  2. Use the black marker to add the details to the fox.
  3. Use the glue stick to glue on the color bands for the rainbow to the front of the notebook.
  4. Use the glue stick to glue the ears and face fur to the fox.
  5. Use the black marker to add the details to the fox.
  6. Cut white sheets of construction paper to fit the inside of the notebooks.
  7. Staple the white sheets inside!

TADA your kiddos now have their very own notebook. I shared a fox and rainbow but they can create any shape their heart desires.

Project 2: Notebook Decorating

Back to School Notebook Decorating with Crayola

Make schoolwork more fun by letting the kiddos customize their notebooks. This is a fun project for all ages!

Pineapple Notebook Materials:

  • Crayola Yellow and Green Construction Paper
  • Crayola Glitter Glue
  • Crayola Glue Stick
  • Scissors

Cut a piece of yellow construction paper to fit the cover of your notebook. Glue it to the notebook. Cut leaves from the green construction paper and glue them together to form the pineapple stalk. Glue the stalk to the inside cover. Finish the design by drawing the pineapple ridges and adding detail to the leaves with glitter glue.

Flower Pot Notebook Materials:

  • Crayola Construction Paper
  • Crayola Glue Sticks
  • Scissors

Create a 3D design by cutting out the shape of a flower pot, flowers stems, and leaves. For the flower cut thin strips and fold them in half to create loops. Glue the loops together to make the flower and glue to the stem and leaves.

Flower Drawing Notebook Materials:

  • Crayola White Acrylic Paint
  • Crayola Markers
  • Crayola Glitter Glue (optional)

Paint the notebook cover white. Let it completely dry then have fun doodling with the markers! Add fun accents with glitter glue!

Project 3: Flower Pencil Toppers

DIY Pencil Toppers for Back to School with Crayola

Let your kids add a little flair to their pencils while still keeping the eraser accessible.

Materials:

  • Crayola Construction Paper
  • Crayola Washable Glue
  • Crayola Markers
  • Scissors

Cut strips of paper and slightly fold them in half to create a loop. Glue the loops around the top of the pencil. Leaving plenty of room to access the eraser. Cut a leaf and glue to the base of the flower! Your kiddos can write their name or a message on the leaf.

TADA! It is so easy to create a fun work of art!

Stay tuned for more creative projects every Tuesday live on the Crayola Facebook Page at 1:00pm EST!
