3 Inktober Crafts with Crayola

This week we are celebrating Inktober on my weekly Crayola Facebook Live Broadcast! Celebrate as a family with three crafts that everyone can enjoy and get in the spirit for Fall and Halloween!

Project 1: Coffee Filter Ink Pumpkin and Candy Corn

Crayola Coffee Filter Candy Corn Craft

Materials:

  • Crayola Markers
  • Crayola Glue
  • Coffee Filters
  • Cardboard
  • Green Pipecleaners
  • Cup of Water
  • Twine

Directions:

  1. Cut a pumpkin and a candy corn shape out of scrap cardboard. 
  2. Lay out coffee filters and colors squiggly lines around the edges with an orange markers. Do some with a yellow marker as well. 
  3. Fold the coffee filter in half over and over until you have a pie slice. 
  4. Dip it in the cup of water. Pull it straight up and let the water drip off. 
  5. Open up the coffee filter and lay it flat to dry or blow dry. 
  6. Make enough orange ones to cover the pumpkin and enough yellow and orange ones for the candy corn. 
  7. Make 4 brown coffee filters for the pumpkin stem. 
  8. Once all the coffee filters are dry bunch them up from the center. 
  9. Glue all the orange ones to the cardboard pumpkin and add the 4 brown ones for the stem. 
  10. Finish the pumpkin with green pipe cleaners vines. 
  11. Bunch up the orange and yellow coffee filters and use some white un-inked ones. Glue them starting with the yellow at the bottom, then orange and white at the top. 

If you want to hang these add glue a piece of twine to the back!

Project 2: Inky Pumpkin Doodles

Materials:

  • Faux Pumpkins 
  • Crayola Project Metallic Markers
  • Crayola Project Metallic Outline Markers

If you want to make the cat, grab some black pipe cleaners, glue and construction paper!

Project 3: Solar System Mobil School Project

School Project Planet Mobil

Materials:

  • Crayola Project Metallic Markers
  • Crayola Project Metallic Outline Markers
  • Crayola Glitter Pens
  • Crayola Construction Paper
  • Crayola Glue
  • Sequin Ribbon or Yarn
  • Flat Wreath Form (you can cut one from cardboard)

Directions:

  1. Cut circles for each planet you want to include in your mobile. You will want at least 3 circles for each plant. 
  2. Use the metallic markers and glitter pens to color and label each planet. Color and label all three circles for each planet. 
  3. Fold each circle in half. Glue the halves together to form a round 3D planet. Leave a little opening at the top.
  4. Wrap and glue the flat wreath form with strips of construction paper. 
  5. Glue the sequin strand/yarn from the top of each planet to the wreath form. 
  6. Add sequin strands/yarn to four points at the top of the wreath form create a hanger! 

Hang the sun in the center and watch the planets revolve around it! This is definitely an A+ project!
