3 Kids Crafts for Father's Day

It is almost Dad's Day and l have 3 crafts the kiddos can create that are sure to make him smile! This week on my Crayola Facebook live broadcast it's all about Father's Day with a sweet card, a gift that rocks and hands down the perfect card!

Kids Father's Day Crafts

Project 1: Family Hands Flip Card

Materials: 

  • Crayola Construction Paper
  • Crayola Markers
  • Crayola Liquid Washable Glue
  • Crayola Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Yarn
  • Stapler

Directions:

  1. Trace every member of the family's hands on different colors of construction paper. You can even trace the dog's paw. 
  2. Add fun details to the hands like rings and nails with construction paper. 
  3. Line up the hands with largest to smallest and stack so the smallest is on top. 
  4. Line them up at the bottom and staple. 
  5. Write a note to dad on each handprint so he can flip through and read all the reasons why you love him! 
  6. Finish the card by tying a small bow with yarn and gluing it over the staple.

Project 2: Dad You Are So Sweet Card

Materials:

  • Crayola Construction Paper
  • Crayola Bright Pop Cardstock
  • Crayola Washable Liquid Glue
  • Crayola Glue Stick
  • Crayola Markers
  • Crayola Glitter Glue
  • Dad's Favorite Candy
  • Zip Top Bag
  • Stapler
  • Gum Ball Machine Template

Directions:

  1. Download, print and cut out the gum ball template. 
  2. Trace and cut the top and coin insert on silver or black paper and the other pieces on red construction paper. 
  3. Place the circle with the cut out on the zip top bag and trace it with a marker. Cut around the area you just traced. 
  4. Staple around the edges of the plastic bag circle leaving the top open. 
  5. Fill the plastic circle with Dad's favorite candy and staple shut. 
  6. Using the glue stick, glue the construction paper pieces of the gum ball machine together. 
  7. Using the liquid glue glue the zip top bag to the back of the gum ball machine and let dry. 
  8. Fold a piece of bright pop card stock in half hamburger style to form a card.
  9. Once the gum ball machine is dry glue the entire gum ball machine to the front the card. 
  10. Cut a small piece of construction paper to fit below or above the gum ball machine. Write the message "Dad You Are So Sweet"
  11. Add more decorations with glitter glue if you want to jazz it up! 
  12. Write dad a personal message in the card.

Project 3: Dad Rocks Paper Weights

Materials: 

  • Crayola Acrylic Paint
  • Crayola Take Note Permanent Markers
  • Crayola Metallic Markers
  • Crayola Colors of the World Markers
  • Paint Brushes

Directions:

  1. Gather 3 rocks in your yard, bring them inside and wash and dry them.
  2. Paint two of the rocks a color and one rock white. Let the rocks completely dry. 
  3. Use the permanent or metallic markers to write DAD on one rock and Rocks on another. 
  4. On the white rock use the Colors of the World Markers to draw a picture of Dad! I Iove all the options in the marker set that help you can create a image that truly looks like dad! 

Surprise Dad by putting these on his desk :) It is a perfect reminder during a busy work day that you love him and he rocks!
