Thyme Maple Bourbon Sipper

by Lynn Lilly, Dec 30 2015

It is officially Winter but in Atlanta it feels more like Summer with temperatures soaring into the mid 70's. One of the things I love about J.R. Revelry Bourbon is that it is perfect for creating Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter cocktails. I am digging the Thympe Maple Bourbon Sipper I whipped up today. It works over ice for the hot winter days and is also perfect served neat for the cooler brisk days.

Ingredients to make Simple Syrup:

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Splash of Vanilla Extra
  • Leaves from 2 sprigs of thyme

Directions to make the syrup: Put all ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil and reduce to low and simmer for 3 minutes. Strain to remove all the thyme leaves.

Directions to make cocktailsPlace 1.5 ounces of J.R. Revelry Bourbon and 1 ounce simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake for 15 seconds and strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and thyme.
