Gluten Free Pasta Salad Station

by Lynn Lilly, Dec 16 2015

The holidays are filled with heavy eating, lots of carbs and unhealthy foods. Holiday parties are the hardest places to enjoy good healthy food especially for people with dietary restrictions. I was really excited to team up with Barilla Gluten Free Pasta and showcase an interactive way to enjoy gluten free pasta at a holiday party. Enjoy this fun and easy party idea that provides an interactive component. I like to make my guests work for their food - just kidding!

Ingredients (serves 10-12 people):

  • 2 boxes of Barilla Gluten Free Rotini Pasta
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Green Pepper
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion
  • 1/2 Cup of Gluten Free Bacon Chunks
  • 1 Cup of Carrots
  • 1 Cup of Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Cup of Gluten Free Cheese Chunked
  • 3 Cups of Spinach
  • 2 Cups of Gluten Free Italian Dressing (store bought or homemade)
  • Martini Glasses

With set up, prep and cooking this recipe only takes about 20 minutes. The entire salad provides an easy, healthy, non-GMO and gluten free meal, appetizer or snack. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the pasta, which is made with corn and rice, has a delicious taste, normal texture and tastes just like regular pasta.

Display all ingredients on a table to provide easy access for guests to build their perfect gluten free pasta salad in a martini glass. I made a simple sign on a slate board with chalk pens to let my guests know that this station was gluten free and interactive. Decorate the table with simple things like tissue paper and ornaments in glassware, plants, mini trees and fake wrapped presents.

Your guests will love this interactive component and be so thankful that you are sensitive to their dietary needs! For more gluten free recipes visit Barilla's Pinterest boards.
