DIY Wedding Favors

Here's a few quick ideas to get your creative juices flowing for a custom, DIY wedding favor that's sure to please.

Pashminas
These were actually used by recent client, Morgan, as a bridesmaids' gift (hence the monograms). However, you could easily turn this into a nice parting favor for guests at a fall or winter wedding that they can and will actually use. All you have to do is buy some pashminas in bulk, fold them and display nicely at the wedding and create a tag, sign or other piece with a cute saying on it. This bride chose to put a tag on each pashmina that read "to have and to hold in case you get cold." Love it!

Honey or Homemade Jam
Laura and Tim decided to source some local honey to place in this cute little jar to give at favors at their April wedding. The jars are something can be purchased in bulk, with the finishing touches coming from a local Hobby Lobby or other craft supply store. We displayed some of these at their sign in table and set others in cute market baskets for guests to take home with them.

Fleece Blankets
I guess it's the time of year that I have cold weather on my mind, but regardless, this little wagon with fleece blankets that Sarah used at her November wedding last fall is too sweet. The blankets can be purchased at a variety of discount retailers (think WalMart, Dollar Tree, Target) and then with the help of some pallet wood you can hand letter or paint your own sign. If a wagon isn't available, try wicker baskets. You could easily grab some at a thrift store and give them a new life with a little spray paint.
