DIY Trick-or-Treat Table

by Lynn Lilly, Sep 26 2019

Halloween is right around the corner and I am in full spooky mode with decorations going up, costumes being made and treats being prepped! I am always looking for new ways to decorate my porch year-round, and one way to do that is with a table that can be re-purposed for each holiday – including Halloween. For this project, I purchased an inexpensive sofa table and turned it into a trick-or treat table! With the help of Krylon® Brand it was so easy to spray paint and decorate! Check out the step by step guide below!

DIY Halloween Trick or Treat Table

Supplies:

    Krylon Spray Paint

    Project Time: 2 Hours

    Directions:

    1. In a well-ventilated space, or outdoors, cover a flat surface with a drop cloth or tarp.
    2. Before starting, read and follow safety and application instructions on the spray paint can.
    3. If you bought your table new and it needs to be assembled, lay out all the pieces on the tarp. If you have the table and can remove the legs and any drawers, do so to make it easier to spray. If the table cannot be disassembled, tape off the areas you want to paint with painter’s tape.
    4. If you are following my color scheme, take the Krylon ColorMaster® Paint + Primer – 25% More in Gloss Pumpkin Orange, hold it 8 inches from the surface and spray in sweeping motions. I sprayed the table top and legs with this color. The table and legs took two coats. Make sure the coats dry in between spraying.
    5. Next, I sprayed the drawer with Krylon ColorMaster® Paint + Primer – 25% More in Gloss Black and the bottom shelf and a basket with Krylon ColorMaster® Paint + Primer – 25% More in Gloss Purple. All of these pieces needed two coats of spray paint.
    6. Last, I sprayed the drawer knobs and another basket with Krylon ColorMaster® Paint + Primer – 25% More in Metallic  Gold. These just needed one coat of spray paint.
    7. I let all the pieces dry for 2 hours, and then I assembled the table.
    8. Next came the fun of creating treats and decorating the table!
