DiY Blonde is a fresh and funky brand, mixing DIY, Interiors, Craft and Property advice together to give the viewer the opportunity to put their creative input on their homes, but without breaking the bank - which let's face it helps us all! It is my mission to lose the ‘mumsy’ tag on crafting and to encourage a younger generation to ‘make’ before they ‘buy’. With the rise of upcycling and homemade gifting, this has been the perfect time for the DiY Blonde brand to thrive and helping people to create the home of their dreams, but on a budget is so important to me. After working as an Interior Journalist and now as an almost qualified Interior designer, I wanted my own blog to share my creative ideas with the world. I have since become a TV craft expert also, so having diyblonde.com is a great place to display my ideas and tips. I just hope to inspire people to have the home they have always wanted, without any limitations.
The most challenging part of a blog is In the early stages. It is really difficult to dedicate the time it needs and being able to fund it is hard as well. But if you have the determination and are willing to put in the time and effort, it will start to pay off. I still feel my blog is in it's youth, so I am living through this as well - but I know if I keep working at it, it will open doors for me and my end goal. Knowing that your blog can help people, even if it's just one person, makes all the hard work worth it! Yay!

Can you tell us your biggest craft fail?
Having a failed DIY scratch card go wrong on British TV! It didn't work - eeek!
What is one piece of advice would you give someone wanting to start a blog or creative business:
Be organized, find your USP and just keep going! Your dream will work out, if you believe in yourself enough! I believe in you :-)
Where do you get your creative inspiration?
My brain! Pinterest, other blogs & Youtube channels, Interior styles, architecture, popular culture, pastel tones - basically anything that catches my eye. I love anything bold, retro and unbelievably kitsch!
What are you most excited about for National DIY DAY?
Being part of it all! I am so honoured to have been chosen as an ambassador and can't wait to inspire people to get creative all over the world!
In 5 years, what is your goal for you and your blog?
As I am a TV presenter too, I would love to have my own DIY/Home TV show based around DiY Blonde! I would also love to work Internationally with my blog and be working full time from DiY Blonde - not that I want much though he he!
